Yellow Circle, 1926

Wassily Kandinsky

In 1921, Kandinsky was invited to go to Germany to attend the Bauhaus of Weimar by its founder, architect Walter Gropius. In his Bauhaus period (1922-1933) geometrical elements took on increasing importance in both his teaching and painting-particularly the circle, half-circle, the angle, straight lines and curves. This period was intensely productive. From 1925 to 1927 he emphasized circles in his paintings.

The painting will be delivered unstreched, rolled in protective & presentable case.
